A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is used to connect securely to a remote network via the Internet. This is especially important if you are traveling and using an unfamiliar network (I.e. airports, coffee shops, etc.) PSU maintains a VPN so that employees can access files, applications, printers, and other resources on the office network without compromising security.
In addition to accessing PSU services off campus via myPlymouth, you can access many of Plymouth State University’s networked resources remotely, using Plymouth’s Virtual Private Network (“VPN”). For example, you may wish to access network file shares from off-campus, or use Banner INB while working from home. You do NOT need to use this service if you only wish to use email or access Moodle via myPlymouth.
